The Dragon Colors

Indigo: The brightest of purple colors and oddly, this is the largest male dragon. He can be any shade of purple, from the darkest purple to a light-silver purple. He tends to be a leader, even more than the Sapphire’s and even from birth this male shows great leadership potential. He tends to be selfless and more like a queen then a normal leader, he puts his dragons ahead of himself and isn’t very vain for being such a large dragon, in fact this dragon likes being around smaller colors. Indigo’s tend to be calmer heads then most in a bad situation and they have a high sense of morals and loyalty when it comes to their dragons and Weyr. They look at the big picture, what will happen when they do something; this is the kind of dragon who will think before he speaks. They Impress bisexual females, as well as heterosexual and bisexual males who are as selfless, honorable and who have as high a sense of morals and loyalties as the Indigos themselves. These dragons tend to be bulky and strong looking, but not too bulky to not have the agility needed to catch queens. The most noticeable of these dragons physical appearance is their rock-like hide. Everything an Indigo says will be believed, but only at most for a couple of candlemarks but it’s the thought that counts. They don’t scar easily and they have the advantage in fight since it takes very deep scratches to even make them begin to Ichor. Indigo’s can Fly Alizarin’s down to Charcoals. They mature sexually at two turns and six months and reach physical maturity at three turns. At hatching he is around six feet long and weighs around seventy pounds. Their eggs tend to be a metallic purple.
There are eight Indigos available, one at Senkai Island Weyr, five at Hidden Mountain Weyr and two at Fort Weyr.

Alizarin: This dragon tends to be a bright metallic pink-red color and is the largest queen. She is usually only a few feet smaller than Indigos. She is usually sweet, happy and for a large queen tends not to care about other queens. Where other queen’s orders have to be obeyed, the Alizarin’s orders are like a suggestion and can be overruled by another queen or an Indigo or Orange. Alizarin’s are a very calm queen and aren’t built as much in rank. She doesn’t claim dragons as much as other queens usually doesn’t really care but she will have a few females and males that she will consider under her protection. She wouldn’t do well in battle, mostly because unless her eggs or one of the dragons she will consider hers is harmed. Then she’ll merely put her very large foot down and make you leave her eggs alone, even at her most threatening, she’s not very threatening at all, not like other angry queens. The oddest thing about an Alizarin is that well she is usually sweet and easy to manage, when she goes to rise for her Flight she becomes a monster and is very difficult to control. The Alizarin’s power is very strong for it is Truthtelling, she knows when anyone is telling a lie around her, even if they are talking to Hers. She Impresses heterosexual females and homosexual men with very strong will-powers, but not necessary leadership abilities. Another odd thing about Alizarins is that she has very large whiskers on her face, which are quite like a cat’s or a Earth Chinese dragon’s, they are very sensitive as well. She matures in two turns and six months but doesn’t reach physical maturity until two turns and nine months. At her hatching she is around six feet and weighs sixty-five pounds. She will Fly every two turns and her eggs can be between 20-50 eggs because of her slim shape. Eggs containing an Alizarin are any shade of metallic red or pink.

Orange: Unlike the Indigo’s, Orange’s are extremely bulky and stocky and don’t have the best agility but amazing stamina. They are large in their bulk more than their size and because of so they tend to look bigger than the Alizarin’s because of it. Orange’s are any shade of metallic orange, from a very light, pale orange to a bright red-orange color. These males differentiate from the Alizarin’s and the Indigo’s in one major way; they are always violent. Orange’s are very male, very violent and very possessive. They are commanding and they only want the best. They are arrogant and vain but with their power of pyrokinesis they are very dangerous on the battlefield. They often have a very twisted sense of humor and they Impress heterosexual and bisexual boys as well as bisexual and homosexual girls that tend to be similar to them and know how to fight. Orange’s cannot do many tricks for they are too thick of the body and the oddest thing about their bodies is that they have an extra claw at the inside of their legs, which makes it very dangerous when they are chasing a female. Orange’s can Fly Alizarin’s down to Heliotropes. They mature at two turns and three months but don’t reach physical maturity until two turns and six months. At their hatching, Orange’s are around five and a half feet long and weigh around seventy five pounds. Their eggs tend are a metallic orange color.

Sapphire: Comparing to the Alizarin, this queen tends to be a very dark blue color. Also, compared to the Alizarin this queen hates being surrounded by too many queens in her Weyr. She’s very cunning and commanding and she is very vain-like a queen should be. She has a very metallic gleam to her blue color and she’s usually very shiny. Sapphire’s are thicker then Alizarin’s, instead of being trim they tend to be bulky and stocky like the original Gold’s. She is calm like queens should be, but very authoritive, when she gives a command it is best to follow her. However she isn’t violent, she’s usually nicely calm and approachable by any of her dragons, but she dislikes other queens naturally. However she is very skilled and negotiating and soothing queens, she’s such a sweet talker that people will often agree with what she says because of how clever she is. Her power is flit-memory, which makes her remember everything that has ever happened in her past. Not a good thing for blackmailing purposes. The oddest thing about this queen is that unlike the Pernese dragons, she is not born with hide…she is born with scales like Terran dragons. These scales can be any color of blue and they are very tough…another odd thing is that a Sapphire will sometimes shed scales and grow other ones back in their place. She’s Impresses only girls and usually only heterosexual or bisexual girls that have good leadership skills as well as strong wills. She physically matures at two turns and sexually matures at two turn and three months. She will Fly every turn or less and her eggs can be between 20-50 eggs because of her bulky shape. At birth she is roughly five and a half feet long and weigh around seventy pounds. Sapphire’s eggs are a metallic blue.

Periwinkle: Contrary to what some may think when hearing this dragon’s name, they are not a very purple color. In fact, the Periwinkle is pure white with tints of purple, indigo and blue in their hides. Oddest thing about these dragons is that they too will come out female or male like the Sangrias. They are massive dragons and are slightly larger than a Gold dragon in size. They are also very graceful and prideful in their beauty. Long and slim, they are dragons that look like they nearly have an eating disorder. No matter how much they eat, there is also a touch of ribs and slimness about them and tying this with their ability of nosokinesis. Extremely dangerous, Periwinkles can physically manipulate diseases, viruses and bacteria. They can somewhat control bacteria that is around them and can also make diseases that will only affect a certain species. These dragons also won’t fall to any diseases, viruses or bacteria’s. They cannot completely manipulate their power however and should another plague hit the Weyr, they would only be able to somewhat alter it to something less dangerous. Periwinkle’s are very rare dragons and usually aren’t born; their eggs are usually duds in clutches. When born though, Periwinkle’s are unnaturally healthy and very rarely fall ill. They have a celestial build and look very delicate and they have long, very slim wings. Periwinkles are actually able to carry a rider long before they are six months old (could even carry a rider around three months) because of their grace and their connection to their bodies, even though it’ll be doubtful the Weyr will allow their riders on them before six months, maybe even longer because of fear about their bodies. The Periwinkles are hardy and even though they have thin skin that scars relatively easy, they won’t get ill when they’re wounds are left open. They have a very powerful immune system. Periwinkles tend to be the lazier of dragons, though it’s not uncommon to find a hard-working Periwinkle, they don’t mind taking advantage of their free time. Periwinkles, personality wise, always suggest random things and tend to be known as the eccentrics of the Weyr. Periwinkles Impress to people who are very adaptive and very open-minded. They also usually Impress opposite of their own gender. A female Periwinkle would Impress a male over a female and a male Periwinkle will Impress a female over a male. They are sexually mature at two turns but can take a few more months to become physically mature. Female Periwinkles Fly usually every six months, sometimes more. Females can clutch, but due to their size their clutches are more likely to have duds and they would have maybe twenty eggs or less, but with a higher chance of a Periwinkle in their eggs. Females will clutch every four turns. Male Periwinkles Fly Alizarins to Greens and it is more likely to have a Periwinkle in their clutches. Eggs containing a Periwinkle are usually silver/gray/purple/blue/indigo in color and shade. At birth, they are five and a half feet long but are an astonishingly thirty pounds. Periwinkles are born through mutant x mutant clutches and their eggs only have a 25% chance of survival to hatching.
There are seven Periwinkles Auditionable, three at Hidden Mountain Weyr, two at Senkai Island Weyr and two at Fort Weyr.

Gold: Once the largest in the Weyr, Golds were the original queens. The main personality traits of Gold queens are being haughty, protective and proud. They Impressed heterosexual females only that tend to have strong leadership skills. Golds are strocky in build with lots of strength and endurance. Few are able to successfully lie to a Gold queen, but the crafty and strong-willed dragons were able to avoid this. Out of the original colors, Bronzes had the best luck, but now an Indigo would have the best luck to avoid it just by apologizing and using his power against her. Golds are any shade of Gold, but on the morning of their Flights they tend to become the most metallic. Golds were originally Flown by Bronzes and the rare Brown, but when Flown by Browns there were no queen eggs and very few Bronzes, so it was discouraged for Browns to try and Fly the Golds…at least your Senior Gold. However with the Brown’s new mutations, Browns are more likely to Fly Golds. Other dragons able to Fly her are Indigos, Oranges and Fuchsias. The new mutated Gold queens have the power of attention claiming and can either draw attention to herself or push attention away from herself. She also is born with an extra row of teeth, which makes her more dangerous because she has an easier time of tearing at extremely hard things (such as metals). Golds tend to be protective of their Weyr and “their” dragons. During Gold Flights, no other queen can be near or else they will fight over “their” males. They Fly once a turn or less and have clutches of 10-40 eggs. They have the most eggs during dangerous times and have fewer eggs when it is not dangerous. They reach physical and sexual maturity at two turns. Eggs containing Golds are usually a metallic gold. At their hatching they are around five feet long and weigh sixty-five pounds.

Fuchsia: Fuchsia’s tend to be a very bright, brilliant pink color however they can go from a dull pink color to a color that is nearly citrine in its red-pink-orange-yellow look. Well they would make decent leaders; Fuchsia’s are more of the type to fight for equal rights. They don’t believe in differentiating with sizes. Fuchsia’s are the Weyr’s hard workers, they don’t believe in differentiating between large and small, though they don’t take it as far as the Indigos, Fuchsia’s will treat their wingmates like they are equal. They are strong willed and opinionated and they don’t get along well with those who are vain, for males at least, such as Bronzes and Oranges. They are very opinionated, which makes them very hard to live with if you don’t agree with them, which makes them great rivals to Bronzes and Oranges. They are built solid, but still agile enough to do tricks. The physical oddity of Fuchsia’s is their flexibility which makes them able to Fly generally anything. If there is a small Alizarin, a large Fuchsia will even attempt to Fly her. Well they are humble and give credit where it is due, this dragon’s are very proud of their ability of force-field generation. They can make shields to cover thirty feet around them. They can’t fully protect their bodies because of this, but they can make it within ten feet away from them if need be. Fuchsia’s mature and full-sized at a turn and twelve months. They generally Fly Sapphires down to Greens but a large one may attempt a small Alizarin. They Impress the hard-working boys that are very humble or need tuning down. At their hatching they are around four and a half feet long and weigh around sixty pounds. They come from bright pink eggs that can sometimes be mistaken for Alizarin eggs.
There are twenty Fuchsias Auditionable, nine at Hidden Mountain Weyr, nine at Senkai Island Weyr and two at Fort Weyr.

Bronze: Originally the largest males of the Weyr, Bronze’s tend to be any shade of bronze, from green-bronze to golden bronze. They tended to be solidly built, but not so solid that they couldn’t be agile, however they don’t have speed like the Blues and Greens, they have stamina and strength. Bronzes Fly Golds and down, however a large Bronze will attempt to Fly a Sapphire. They Impress mainly heterosexual men with strong leadership traits, however they will Impress the odd bisexual male. The dragons themselves are usually arrogant but capable of making good, swift decisions. Their riders can be Weyrleaders, Weyrseconds, Wingleaders or Wingseconds or just regular wingriders if none of those are available. Eggs containing a Bronze may be any color. At birth they are around four and a half feet long and weigh around sixty pounds. They are physically and mentally mature at a turn and nine months. Mutated Bronzes have the power of power negotiation, which means that any powers near them, will in a sense “conk” out and not work, but this doesn’t work for physical mutations just mental mutations. The person must also be within thirty meters of the Bronze. When their wings are extended, it’s very alarming to see the ripped membranes on their wings. Bronzes have rips on their wings and the Weyr will worry about their Flight ability, but the Bronzes fly normally with these taters and in battle, if they get their wings torn, they’ll continue fighting normally…it’s like they can feel no pain in that area.
There are twenty-three Bronzes auditionable, ten at Hidden Mountain Weyr, eleven at Senkai Island Weyr and two at Fort Weyr.

Charcoal: This dragon will not be believed as a queen until the day she Flies. She’s the size of a Brown, only a little bit bigger actually and where the other queens have a metallic gleam to their hides, Charcoal’s are usually black with a gray covering over it. Well she is small, Charcoal’s carry the authority of a true queen that not even an Indigo would dare disobey. She’s temperamental and once she has a mate, it’s very rare another dragon will be able to Fly her. Her clutches aren’t large and tend to be between 5-30 eggs and it is very rare they will have a queen and if they do it will be another Charcoal and she won’t have any dragons larger then what Flies her. Well not necessarily “violent”, Charcoals will turn viciously violent in any dangerous situation. Charcoal's will be known for one thing; they are stubborn but they will usually forgive as long as the person who is apologizing apologizes profusely. She considers herself the mentor of the Weyr and a referee in any fight, meaning that whenever there’s a fight between dragons (even if it’s larger queens), the Charcoal queens will instantly try to help. With her pain projection power, she’s viewed as a dangerous queen. She can take away pain as well as apply it in battle. She has retractable claws like a cat. She matures sexually at a turn and seven months and reaches physical maturity at a turn and nine months. She Flies once a turn and sometimes more. At birth she is only four feet long and weighs fifty pounds. She Impresses bisexual boys and girls but prefers to Impress boys. Eggs containing a Charcoal are usually a black or gray color that is not metallic. Charcoal's are born from mutant x mutant parents only.

Brown: The second largest original male, Brown’s were built for the power of a wing. They are stocky and solid and can’t do many tricks in the air, but they have stamina and endurance. Some Browns will attempt to Fly a Gold, but they will Fly anything smaller. Browns tend to be even-tempered, patient and calm. They Impress heterosexual and bisexual males and the odd homosexual woman that have steady centers and are able to be in control of their emotions. They are physically and sexually mature at a turn and four months. Eggs containing a Brown can be any color. The new Browns have the ability of “phasing”, which means that they can generally dissemble their bodies and pass through anything without being seriously injured, such as walls or other dragons or peoples. Some Browns will be better at detaching just one body part at a time; well others can only do their full body. Another odd thing about Browns is that they are larger than they should be through their ribcage, thanks to their second set of wings right behind the first. This gives them extra driving and flying power, which makes Browns more likely to Fly something like a Gold. Their extra wings also makes them where they can be nearly as large as a regular size Bronze or larger. At birth they are around four feet long and weigh around fifty-five pounds.

Malachite: These males have an interesting appearance. They have base color of green but the shade of color changes in streaks across their bodies. For example, there will be a band of bright green over the left third of their bodies, then a dark green over the middle third, then a forest green on the right third. Streaks of black aren't uncommon as aren't streaks of neon green. These boys are tough and hard as nails. They thoroughly believe they can pull the same workload as a Bronze or even an Orange. Pain means nothing to them and won't deter them. Their work ethic is epic and truly one day the saying shall be "works like a malachite." They will go and go and go until they collapse from exhaustion, forgetting food and oil in the face of any task. They have the power of technopathy which means that they instantly understand and can manipulate any technology. They’re front feet are extremely delicate and flexible and they can fix generally with their front feet, which are like human hands. They hate having nothing to do. Theirs are practical boys and girls with strong wills who know when to say no and face down a temper-tantrum. They Fly Charcoals and down and are sexually mature at turn and four months but can take an extra two months to mature physically. Malachites tend to be around three and a half feet long and weigh around fifty pounds at their hatching and come from any color of egg.

Blue: The smallest male of the canon five colors, Blues are great for quick missions, but they don’t have the stamina to last for long periods of time. He has less stamina then Bronzes and Browns, but he defeats them with his agility. When someone needs a dragon for a mission that will take longer than a couple of candlemarks, he’s the dragon, Greens tire too easily. They Fly Charcoals and smaller. They can Impress anything except heterosexual females and theirs tend to be those who are friendly or at least willing to follow commands. They are sexually mature at a turn but may take a couple of extra months to mature physically. At birth they tend to be around three feet long and weigh forty-five pounds. Blues come from any color of egg. Blues are born with the ability to live underwater, which means they can breathe underwater and Blues can even digest seaweed and anything else that they can find underwater. Also they have extra membrane between their toes, their ear knobs and heads and generally on any part of their bodies.

Heliotrope: Unlike the other fighting females, Heliotropes are very motherly creatures. They have to have something to take care of, nature, and just generally fuss over. They can be rather like a mother hen but they like dealing with emotions and such and are very comfortable doing so. There is a flip-side to that, though. They are mother bears when provoked. They will stalk over to the mean person bothering Theirs and let them have it. These dragons really are softies and bleeding-hearts and as such are prone to being manipulated by Theirs or someone else into unleashing the momma bear wrath on a true innocent. They are healers and also have a light dusting of fur over their hides. They can, however, hold a grudge with the best of them. Heliotropes Impress bisexual males and females and gravitate towards the kind, quiet souls. They mature at the same time as greens and Fly just as often. At birth they are three feet long and weigh 35 pounds. Heliotropes can come from any color of egg.

Green: The smallest dragon of the original colors, the Greens are agile, flirty and fighters at heart. They are quick and well suited for missions that you are in and out, though they tire too quickly to be good for anything longer then a maximum of a couple of hours. She Flies up to six times a turn which helps keep tensions down in the Weyr. She never clutches, often this has been speculated about how fire-stone makes females sterile but she has never clutched. Greens, unlike Golds don’t have a problem with other females Flying at the same time she does. They don’t get attached to their mates as often as Golds do, however it is not uncommon for a male to be constantly Flying a Gold. She Impresses anyone except heterosexual boys. They are sexually mature at a turn and physically mature by a turn and a half. They can come from any color of egg and at hatching they are usually three feet long and weigh around thirty-five pounds. The oddest thing about the mutated Greens is that they can encourage lust in people, make it consume them…which makes a Green Flight even more powerful, for their power works with their natural Flights, which makes the males just a bit more anxious to chase them. Greens now also have horns instead of ear knobs, which make them more dangerous in battle; their ears are located at the base of their horns, in small holes covered by very thick hairs to protect their sensitive ears.

Sangria: This dragon is the only dragon that will come from their eggs either gender. These dragons are haughty, bold and daring. Sangria’s tend to be an unpolished red, but can be nearly any shade of red but tend to go towards a very black-red color, in fact some of them come out so dark that they are mistaken for black. Both males and females aren’t quick to violence and are the “jokesters” of the Weyr. They like entertaining others with their antics and their intelligence, but their entertainment can often get embarrassing for those they are teasing. Sangria’s don’t tend to know when or how to stop, they are divas, even the males. Sangria’s are very smart for dragons and they like being the mischievous ones. They’ll only get violent when they feel it is absolutely necessary, such as in battle. Their power is to wipe memories. Which can be very bad and very good. They can wipe sadness from someone’s mind or can wipe their enemy’s memories of wanting to attack them and being ordered to. They can only do this for up to five people or dragons and it only lasts for a maximum of ten minutes. Also, they have a prehensile tail, which means that their tails are extra long and very sensitive and that Sangria’s can actually hang off of their tails from mountains and other things. They can use their tails a lot more on flights for balance and once they gain full control of their tails, Sangria’s can use their tails to throw themselves around. Large Sangria males can Fly up to Heliotropes. Once every three turns a Sangria female will have a clutch of a maximum of eight eggs. They mature at eleven months and females Fly every six sevendays. They average at two and a half feet at hatching and around thirty pounds. They can come from any color of egg.

Saffron: The smallest female, she looks like a very small gold when she first emerges from her shell. She usually is either a very dull looking gold or can be a bright looking gold. She Impresses only boys and she tends to Impress those who are cautious, to try and reign in her own personality or she’ll Impress people like her. She is very protective and loyal to hers. Though she is by far the smallest of the dragons, one shouldn’t mistake her as meek for this little dragon has the biggest attitude. She’s snippy and she’s in your face and is “What are you going to do about it?” and because of her dangerous power, generally other dragons tend to respect her. They are daredevils, they love playing rough and don’t care if they get hurt in the process. Put a challenge before this little female and she’ll do it. They like challenging themselves and pushing themselves. Danger? They laugh in the face of danger, nothing scares her. She’ll go into battle with the challenge, but she’ll get cruelly mean to her enemies and won’t stop until they bow before her. When she’s mad at other dragons though, she never goes to drain them, she can often come up with other ways to challenging, and she doesn’t drain energy out of those who are merely teasing her. She can turn into a real terror and it will take a queen to calm her. Her power especially makes her dangerous, for she is an energy controller. Anyone near her can find themselves drained of energy quite quickly. However she can’t put this energy into herself, only hers or others near her and it tires her out to do it too often. On the inside of her wing joints, she has retractable spikes on her wings that are brought out when she’s outraged or frightened…if she’s ever frightened. She never clutches and Flies every five sevendays. She matures in nine months and two sevendays. Saffron’s are thin and very agile and anything below a Brown will try to Fly her, even a small Bronze. They are small at hatching, only up to two feet long and weigh around twenty pounds. Saffron’s will come out of any color of egg.
