It has come.

The day of reckoning has approached Pern and now, the Dragonriders are ready. They have revealed themselves and in a raid, destroyed an entire Hold, leaving no trace of the people there. Valdera Pern is completely shocked and stunned and the North has sent most of its troops to the North. There is no idea at what destroyed the Hold, no idea at all and constant questions are being asked throughout Valdera Pern. In the two Weyrs, the Pernese gloat.

They had minimal losses the day of the raid and now have started to build up their armies. Between the Weyr are the six queens; Alizarin Njaeith, Sapphires Aziath and Orilith, Golds Zenziath and Pamiath and the Charcoal Inannath.

The Weyrs have been dealing with the queens and there will be three at each Weyr, even though some refuse to believe the Charcoal a queen, for she is the size of a Brown, not the size of a queen. Still, throughout even the determined Weyrs is chaos. Months ago there was an earthquake at Hidden Mountain Weyr which killed many and put the Weyrsecond into a coma. At the same time, a tsunami hit Senkai Island Weyr and killed most of their large dragons. At the time the tsunami hit, the Alizarin queen had her maiden Flight and has laid her eggs on the sands.

There are many conflicts, including a recently made free slave from the raid on Honshu Weyrhold, who has been spreading the thoughts to kill the convicts since there is no further use of them. The hostility between Gold Zenziath and Sapphire Aziath hasn’t been stilled even though they no longer live in the same Weyr. Similar hostilities are arising between Octarine Risk and her Gold daughter Kallask. Will there be too much discord amongst the Weyrs for them to be able to survive to kill the Valde?
